The Hamden North Haven YMCA Typhoons competed at the YMCA New England Regional Championships this past weekend and everyone did an excellent job! All of the swimmers had an outstanding time (both on deck and off), and it was a great experience for everyone! The results from the meet can be found here: YMCA New England Results.
Along with that, in our previous Year End Accomplishments post, we listed the following as some of our achievements, but with great swims from the Hamden North Haven YMCA Typhoons, I am now in need of correcting these accomplishments! So, here is the final tally for the accomplishments:
- 44 of 66 individual team records broken (out of those 44 records broken, 34 of them were broken multiple times)
- Over 51% of our swims were personal best times
- Out of 60 swimmers, 10 individually qualified for New England’s, and a 19 swimmers competing in relays which is almost 50% of our team that will attend Regionals this year – the highest number in our team’s history!
- 4 individual swims placed for points at New England’s
- And, most importantly (again), a total of 60 smiles on 60 swimmers’ faces every week throughout the year as they learned and had fun with their friends!
With all of that said, the short course season has officially come to an end (with the Long Course/Summer Season rapidly approaching). So, I look forward to seeing all of our swimmers and parents at the banquet, and I greatly look forward to another excellent Summer Season with all of you!
Go Typhoons!
